Match Results - Saturday 17th May

Mark O'Neill18 May - 18:18

Wins for the 1's, 2's, 3's and 5's result in a good day's work for the Oats

1st XI win by 129 runs
OTCC - 240/9 (50)
Chingford - 111 all out (30)

A typically dashing and elegant 79 from Alex Brazier led the way as the 1's posted an imposing first innings score, but thanks to an inspired new ball spell from Taylor Casson of 6-24, decimated the visitors' batting line-up for a convincing win to get the 1's league campaign off and running.

2nd XI win by 8 wickets
Buckhurst Hill - 92 all out (28.3)
OTCC 96/2 (22.1)

An incisive new ball spell from the opening pair of Zak Wilson (1-22) and Lewis Markham (4-37) laid the foundation for a convincing 8-wicket win for the 2's, backed up by an excellent fielding display. With the bat, good contributions from Dhruv Solanki (24), Yuvi Verma (26*) and Mark O'Neill (29*) saw the 2's home without much alarm.

3rd XI win by 50 runs
Oakfield Parkonians 147 all out (38.1)
OTCC 197 all out (45)

Important contributions from Jeff Chandler (46) and Jamie Flain (44) was the bedrock of a competitive first innings total, backed up with Fin Barton (36) and Numan Nawaz (21). Early strikes from Billy Chandler (2-35) set the hosts chase back, but the spin pairing of Jamie Flain (1-26) and Nawaz (4-22) ensured that the hosts never seriously threatened to chase down their target.

4th XI lost by 9 wickets
OTCC - 261/6 (45)
Old Brentwoods - 261/1 (36.5)

A good batting display by the 4's batters must have given them hope of defending a good first innings total. Sadly, the home side had other ideas, thanks to unbeaten hundreds from Vhora (149*) and Vahora (101*) saw them coast to their target with others to spare.

5th XI lost by 4 wickets
OTCC - 163 all out (31.5)
Westcliff-on-Sea 4th XI - 166/6 (27.2)

A typically explosive 82 off of just 43 balls from Troy Slaney was the highlight of a below par batting effort from the hosts over on pitch 2, with only Matthew Clarke (21) and Chris Buckley (22) offering any kind of resistance to the visitors bowling. A spirited display with the ball wasn't enough to take the spoils, despite an excellent spell from Ollie Steele (3-17), as Akahsdeep Singh anchored the visitors chase for a comfortable win.

6th XI won by 108 runs
OTCC - 304/6 (40)
Billericay 5th XI - 196 all out

A brilliant 163 from Kugan Ramasethu carried the 6's to a convincing win over hosts Billericay, with the next highest score being 36 from Hiran Solanki. Despite 76 from Sturgeon, the hosts run chase never seriously threatened the 6's first innings score thanks for Lee Webb (3-32) and Jake Wood (2-19).

7th XI lost by 5 wickets
OTCC - 289/5 (40)
Chelmsford 5th XI - 290/5 (36.3)

85 from Ollie O-Carroll, plus a useful 47 from Darren Hambleton saw the 7's post an excellent 289 off their 40 overs, but the visitors chased their target with relative comfort thanks to 102 from Illiffee, and 61 from Kumar, with Ella Allen taking 2 wickets for the home side.
