Results - Saturday 10th May

O&T 1's - 172 all out (49.3)
Loughton - 175/6 (29.5)

Loughton won by 4 wickets
The 1's fell to a 4-wicket defeat against Loughton, but showed plenty of fight along the way, particularly a 10th wicket partnership of 59 between George Pavitt (28) and Tom Redman (15*) gave them something to bowl at after being 113/9. Manoj top scored with 29, and Cal Greene made an explosive 25 (including 3 consecutive 6's), but no one was able to make a decisive contribution.

The visitors got away to a fast start in the 2nd innings but were pegged back through wickets from Tom Redman (2-51) and Cal Greene (2-25), but it was ultimately in vain as the visitors coasted to their victory target inside 30 overs.

Epping 2's - 235 all out (39.4)
O&TCC 2's - 167 all out (37.4)
Epping won by 68 runs

The 2's came unstuck on a spinning track at Epping, but there were still some notable performances which will give them hope for the season ahead. After winning the toss and asking the hosts to bat, Zak Wilson struck with the first ball of the game to have opener Hoque caught by Alex Karkoski, but the glory was short lived as the pace on the ball suited the other top order batters nicely. Karkoski (2-32) then made a couple of breakthroughs, but Louie Collins (4-36) and Yuvi Verma (2-45) took regular wickets to restrict the hosts to 235 to give the visitors hope.
Sadly, a wearing and spinning track made the chase difficult, and only Verma (36) and Wilson (21) out of the top order was able to make any sort of contribution as the 2's quickly slipped to 85/9, before a last wicket partnership between Collins (45) and Harry Fogg gave the scorecard some respectability.

O&TCC 3's - 201/9 (45)
Wanstead & Snaresbrook 3's - 205/1 (30.2)
Wanstead & Snaresbrook won by 9 wickets

Despite a competitive 1st innings total thanks to Mark O'Neill (71), Lee Kooyman (28) and Hayden Westerman (24), it proved a long way short in the end as a strong visiting batting line-up chased their target down with ease. Only Lewis Markham was able to make the breakthrough (1-33), who combined with Rob Long for a testing new ball spell, but the rest of the bowling attack could not maintain the pressure.

Frenford 4's - 329/2 (45)
O&TCC 4's - 246/6 (45)
Frenford won by 83 runs

A flat pitch, a quick outfield, and a strong home batting line-up combined to win the day, despite a determined reply with the bat by 4's. the hosts batted first, and posted a mammoth score thanks to openers Hussain (147) and Darr (142) with only Andrew Hills (2-55) able to make the breakthrough for the visitors.
The 4's responded with typical grit and determination in response, thanks to Tyrone Owen (97) and Rob Marlow (65), but fell a long way short in the end.

O&TCC 5's - 214/8 (40)
Benfleet 4's - 209 all out (39.3)
Orsett & Thurrock won by 5 runs

The 5's won a thriller thanks to a captain's knock of 63 from stand-in skipper Jack Aldwinckle-Day and useful contributions from Dheeraj (34) and Ashton Flood (20).
In response, regular wickets kept Benfleet just at bay, thanks to Sam Petch-Smith (4-30) and Scott Douglas (2-7), with Ashton Flood holding his nerve to take a final wicket with 3 balls to go, and the visitors within striking distance for a hard-fought win.

O&TCC 6's - 219/7 (35.1)
Horndon 4's - 217/9 (40)
Orsett & Thurrock won by 3 wickets

An explosive 72 off 43 balls from Troy Slaney was the difference as the 6's got their league season off to a winning start. The bowling attack led by the new ball pair of Ollie Steele (2-27) and Eliza Winckless (4-50) managed to restrict the hosts to a solid but chaseable 217 in the first innings. With the bat, useful contributions from Imtiaz (26), Narne (36), and Ramasethu (20) set a platform for Slaney to see 6's home with nearly 5 overs to spare.

O&TCC 7's - 118 all out (25.2)
Westcliff 6's - 119//5 (27.5)
Westcliff won by 5 wickets

The 7's battled gamely but were ultimately 40-50 runs short with the bat as no one was able to go on and make a match-winning contribution, with Billy Worthington top scoring with 21. With the ball, Ollie O'Carroll bowled well and claimed 2-41, but ultimately the hosts chased down their score comfortably.

O&TCC 8's - 159 all out (29)
Great Totham - 162/3 (21.4)
Great Totham won by 7 wickets

Ultimately, Mr Extra's scored more for Great Totham (71) than for us (61) despite 28 from Chris Seamark and 17 from Gurdev Singh. Luke Williams took 2-25 in the 2nd innings, but Great Totham found the target easy going thanks to Dundas (34) and Srinivasan (37).

Sunday 11th May
O&TCC Women's 1st XI - 120/9 (28.5)
Upminster Women - 118 all out (25)
Orsett & Thurrock win by 1 wicket

Emma Poskitt and Lola McCarthy were the destroyers with the ball as the ladies tore through the hosts' batting to restrict them to a highly competitive score of 118. But the chase was hard going, and the Upminster bowlers made life difficult, but skipper Eliza Winckless led from the front, carrying her bat throughout the innings for 67 not out to see her side home.

O&TCC Sunday 2's - 269 all out (39.1)
Ittifaq - 148/9 (31)
Orsett & Thurrock won by 121 runs

In the 2nd innings, the wickets were shared around by Harry Fogg (2-7), Kian Flood (2-14), and Ollie O'Carroll (2-47) to ensure that the visitor's chase never got going.
